SACRAMENTO CITY Def. By 7th ranked MODESTO PIRATES 31-20 Sept. 26th AT HOME

The Panthers came out and play hard against the 7th ranked team in the state of California the Modesto Pirates.

The Sacramento City Football rushing attack scored early on a big run play against the Pirates defense by RB (#36) Julio Ayala for a 67 yard touchdown. The Pirates drove and scored to even the game at (7-7) going into the second quarter. In the second quarter the Pirates defense was able to recover and return a fumble for a 60 yard touchdown giving them the lead (14-7). Later in the second quarter the Panthers were able to put a 5 play 32 yard drive together finished off with a 2 yard touchdown run by RB ( #4) LeonardSkattebo. The game was tied at halftime (14-14). The Panthers offense was able to finish off a 8 play 80 yard drive with QB (#15) Taylor Laird, completing a 26 yard touchdown pass to (#10) Keylan Mack giving the Panthers a lead of (20-14). Modesto and its no huddle quick tempo attack was able to finish off a 10 play drive in the 3rd quarter giving the lead back to the Pirates (21-20). The Pirates offense was able to score on two more drives in the fourth quarter giving them a victory of (31-20).

The Sacramento City Panthers were led offensively by Keylan Mack who caught 5 passes for 90 years, WR (#13) Keith Brown also had 6 catches for 59 yards. RB (#36) Julio Ayala had 7 carries for 74 yards and 1 touchdown. RB (#28) Braylon White had 19 carries for 34 yards. QB (#15) Taylor Laird went 18-44 for 183 yards 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Defensive performances were led by LB (#19) Ryan Stass 14 tackles (12 solo), (#94) Harold Cole 7 tackles 1 tackle for loss for 14 yards. DB (#2) Steven Rogers had 8 tackles, DB (#27) Hayden Thornton had 1 interception with 6 tackles (5 solo) and (#3) DB Tyler Dean also had 1 interception.

Sacramento City College is now (1-3) on the season and will look to end its 2 game losing streak against Chabot (2-2) Saturday October 3rd with a solid performance.
