Tayvian Cunningham named the SCC March Male Athlete of the Month
Tayvian Cunningham finished 1st in the 100m at the Wildcat Invite at Chico State with a 10.56 mark in the finals and was a member of the 4x100 relay team that took 1st place as well. At the Hornet Invite at Sac State, Cunningham took 2nd in the 200m with a person best time of 20.82, which puts him 3rd on the SCC All-Time list, #2 in the State and #10 in the nation for JC's. His 4x400m relay team also took 2nd place at the Hornet Invite. In his final meet of the month (Stanford Invitational), Tayvian finished 6th in the 100m (against Division I and Olympic caliber sprinters) at 10.47, which is 5th on the SCC all-time list. He placed 5th in the 200m at 21.21 and was the highest placing JC athlete among Division I competition. He is currently ranked #1 in the Big 8 Conference and in Northern California and 2nd in the state in both the 100m and 200m.
